SPOTLIGHT: CHAOS IN THE CBD

Today we have more reason to heart our local produce and it comes in the form of Chaos In The CBD. Formerly Chaos Dans Le CBD, they are two brothers (Ben & Louis Helliker-Hales), 21 and 19 from Devonport, Auckland. The boys have been producing some solid tech-house and though they managed to slip under our nose it seems the boys have been finding their way around the blog circuit quite well, their production even getting the attention of Lee Mortimer… BLAU!

We like the route that the boys have taken producing their own original tunes and taking the time to let their creative juices flow in each individual track, which has done well to set them apart from most upcoming producers/DJ’s in Auckland. Their sound is an infusion of funky bongo patterns combined with a mix of bouncy synths and steady drums, showing off their knack for sample manipulation. We can see big things to come for the brotherly duo, so keep an eye out for Chaos In The CBD, in the meantime we’ve got some treats that they sent us for your aural pleasure!
