Chiddy Bang @ Logan Campbell Centre

Chiddy Bang has recently announced that they will be performing a side show in NZ as theyre scheduled to play the famous Parklife Festival in Oz in early Oct. They will share the stage with fellow artists Yolanda Be Cool and also NZers Kidz In Space. We’ve been following Chiddy for awhile now so have been waiting a looong time for this one and it cant be missed! Tickets are $45 from Ticketek, with the concert being on September the 29th (Wednesday) at the Logan Campbell Centre – no word on when they go on sale tho.. heres some Chiddy in the meantime

Rhythm & Vines 2010/11 Lineup

So the Rhythm & Lines lineup was released at 7pm and it’s – dare I say – AHHH MAY ZING. I dont know where you kiwi’s go if your not at RnV over the new years because they sure know how to deliver a show – even the foreigners know that judging by how many where there last year! Anyway back to the news, headliners are….

N.E.R.D!!! They were scheduled to come to NZ in Feb ’09 but cancelled the show due to recording commitments, they’ve got their fourth studio album “Nothing” coming out next month for which “Hot N Fun” was the first single. Not sure if these guys will be performing on the big night but they are “headliners” so there is hope for you all!In the meantime get yourself prepped up!

JUSTICE – another huuuge act for RnV to score for new years. The French duo are also on the bill for Summadayze over in Oz early 2011 and have won various awards for their work – even winning a Grammy for their remix of MGMT’s “Electric Feel” as well as winning a few MTV awards. As I can recall, RnV also used “We Are Friends” in one of their older promo reels..

WEEKEND RECOVERY

So for all you kiwi readers would of known We Love Sounds going down on friday night.  My god it was an amazing night. Personal highlights were P Money and of course Laidback Luke, a genius on the decks he completly blew my mind. Steve Aoki did a good set, bit predictable but was good to hear some new tunes. All n all was worth the money and would definatly go again!

We mentioned a little bit about indie-pop outfit Butterfly Bones a while back when they released their EP “Pretty Feelings” which featured cheeky synth filled tracks “XOXO” and “Ur Hott”. They present us with “<3″ the first track from their upcoming album, which continues their summery feel with smiling synths and laidback vocals – giving me the feeling of the first day of summer!

British electropop artist Frankmusik has collaborated with Computer Club, an electro-house band from LA to produce his latest single “Losing Streak” to be featured on his upcoming album “Follow The Leader”. Not too sure about the release date on the new album but Frankmusik seems to be working his ass off with his last album released less than a year ago! Don’t sleep on this one the beat is a banger!!

Justin Faust has built himself up quite a reputation for producing incredibly danceworthy house tracks smooth enough to butter your toast with.
